Richard Mills

Bennetts Winter Sports was conceived in 2011 by two old school friends Russell Bennett and Richard Mills who shared a passion for skiing. Their vision was for a small independent ski shop to provide custom ski boot fitting, hardware and softgood sales, together with a fully functioning ski workshop in a friendly environment. In April 2021 a tragic event took place and Richard passed away leaving everyone heart broken.

We are certain he would have wanted us to continue with the business he and Russ started. Building on the legacy of his achievements and the success that Richard had put in place.

Russell is the M.D. of Bennetts Motorcycles, arguably the U.K.'s leading MV Agusta dealer and, the third generation of his family to run the business. He is a current FIS International and Snowsports UK qualified race coach and, former Chair of The Lions Ski Club. Both his children are passionate skiers. Elliott is a European FIS international ski racer and Grace is a member of the English National Alpine Development Squad. His many hours tuning their race skis has been well rewarded with their success.

As Bennetts Winter Sports moves forward, we would like welcome Frazer Shand into the family. Frazer has a wealth of experience in the snow sports industry. He has worked numerous seasons abroad, is a CSIA certified ski instructor and master boot fitter.

Having spent the last 7 years living and working in London he has come back home to Yorkshire where he is putting the foundations in place to set up his own business which will run alongside Bennetts Winter Sports. For more information on Frazer visit our Boot Fitting page.

We are looking forward to welcoming back old and new customers alike, whether to update their equipment, service/adjust existing kit or just to have a coffee and relive their ski experiences.

We have and do work with skiers of all abilities from national racer to complete beginner and firmly believe than anyone can progress with the correct equipment, advice and patience. Please feel free to contact us via our landline (01226 248896), or email ( regarding any queries you might have.
